According to legend, the Langtang valley was discovered by a Lama following runway Yak, hence the name "Lang" is Yak for Tibetan and "Tang" means to follow. Langtang is a narrow valley, that lies just south of Tibet boarder, sandwiched between main Himalayan range to the northern and a slightly lower range of snow clad peaks to the south. People of Tibetan origin, who practice Buddhism, habituate this high and isolated region. A visit to Langtang valleys offers ann opportunity to explore village and monasteries as well as to visit glaciers at the head of the valley and views of Mt. Langtang, Mt. Dorjelakpsa 6990m. Mt. Lirung 7245m., Mt. Ganesh 7406m and Chinese mountains.
